This is the start

Yesterday marked day one of being a housewife.

Okay, I guess a little back story might be in order. Sunday, June 30th, 2013, marked the last day of my two and half year stint as a Magical Bartender in a movie theater/restaurant. I got married a little over a month ago (Friday, May 24th) and have decided that while I look for another job, one that is suitable for me, I shall in the meantime enjoy a new adventure of being a housewife!

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon on notebook in which I had written the following:

9/14/09
Housewife in Training
It's good for every housewife to have an effective routine. The current routine we shall be attempting is as follows.

Monday: dust, vacuum, grocery shopping

Tuesday: clean bathrooms

Wednesday: clean kitchen

Thursday: clean bedroom, do laundry

Friday: clean living room

Saturday: random projects, outdoor work

Sunday: plan menu for week, relax

*Everyday Chores: dishes, tidy up

This was written the year before our original wedding date. I found this to be quite hilarious, and figured, why not? So that is what I am doing until I get another job, which, when that happens, I would like to find something part time, so that I can still be mostly a housewife.

So, yesterday started this adventure with mostly just trying to pick up the bulk of the downstairs of the apartment. (We live in a two bedroom, one and a half bath, town home.) Got most of the dishes done, took all the recycling out, and cleared off the couch. Had some friends over, in which my bestie and I started making Harry Potter wands from chopsticks, hot glue, and paint. (We're throwing a HP themed birthday party for her this Saturday.) Afterwards, I made a chicken stir-fry. There were two other friends there, besides my bestie, and then the hubby finally got home (super late, he had an awful day at work) in which we all did shots, and then proceeded to make onigiri (rice balls).
Today was mostly spent lazing about reading HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban, while putting some finishing touches on all the wands. I almost felt guilty about not being very productive, but I am approaching my moon time, which always leaves me feeling quite fatigued. I finally got some motivation, and deep cleaned the downstairs bathroom, which also involved scrubbing out the cat boxes. Yuck! I worked up quite a sweat with all of that. I should really do the upstairs bathroom too, but I am a little exhausted. I am still being a little productive though, I stripped the comforter and pillow shams off the bed and threw them in the washer, and I found a change of sheets to put on the bed. It's been too long since I changed my bed sheets. I am definitely going to shower before bed too, hopefully with my hubby. It's just feels so wonderful to be clean and go to bed on nice clean sheets.

I have no idea when my hubby will be home though. Hopefully it will be soon, I miss him. ::sigh::

I guess it is time to end my first post in this blog. I have never been very good at keeping up with a blog, but I shall do my best!

For now, I bid you all a lovely evening.
